Air travel

Around 60 airlines offer direct flights from and to Hamburg Airport, making Hamburg accessible from approximately 130 national and international cities and more than 40 countries without changing planes.

The Airport is located in the Northern part of the city, in the district of Fuhlsbüttel. You can find your flight connection on the Hamburg Airport website.

Travel from the airport to the Hamburg Fair site is by S-Bahn (rapid transit train), Line S1, which takes about 25 minutes; or by taxi, which takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

To West Entrance (1 min.)

• Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Barmbek
• Change at Barmbek to U3 and get off at Sternschanze (Messe)

To Central Entrance (3 min.) and South Entrance (1 min.)

• Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Jungfernstieg
• Change at Jungfernstieg to U2 and get off at Messehallen

To East Entrance (8 min.)

• Take S1 at Hamburg Airport until Hauptbahnhof
• Change at Hauptbahnhof to S11, S21, S31 and get off at Dammtor (Messe/CCH)

From West Entrance (1 min.)

• Take U3 at Sternschanze (Messe) until Barmbek
• Change at Barmbek to S1 and get off at Hamburg Airport

To Central Entrance (3 min.) and South Entrance (1 min.)

• Take U2 at Messehallen until Jungfernstieg
• Change at Jungfernstieg to S1 and get off at Hamburg Airport

From East Entrance (8 min.)

• Take S11, S21, S31 at Dammtor until Hauptbahnhof
• Change at Hauptbahnhof to S1 and get off at Hamburg Airport
